the power of art
28 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

PROGRAMS
EDUCATION, ART, SELF EXPRESSION, LEADERSHIP (EASEL)
The arts are important to mental and social growth. Cutbacks in the arts have compromised the survival of school art programs everywhere. Through EASEL, the Foundation partners with public school art teachers to provide support for budding artists, under their supervision.

KEEPERS OF THE DREAM YOUTH
In memory of Oscar's favorite subject, Dr. King, the OTF recognizes youth who are considered exemplary in their community. Teachers and administrators nominate students whom they consider to be architects of peace, leadership, change and community service.

MURAL PROJECT
Using the power of art, education and community walls, a tapestry of artists collaborate to create colorful abstract and realistic masterpieces. Their bright, vivid murals pay homage to Oscar Thomas and his legacy of larger-than-life commercial works.

OTF 4-H
4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, with over 230,000 members in the State of Florida and more than 7 million young people across America. 4-H is a non-formal, practical educational program for youth. Florida 4-H is the youth development program of Florida Cooperative Extension, a part of the University of Florida IFAS. OTF 4-H's primary curriculum is creative and expressive arts. Our students demonstrate learning through participation in either county events (demo or speech) or entries displayed to the public at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair.
